1381916 Preparing films for processing AGFA-GEVAERT AG 30 June 1972 [30 June 1971] 30841/72 Heading G2X In preparing exposed films for processing, each film being associated with a data carrier such as the customer's order wallet in which the film has been supplied, the films are joined together into a strip and the same identification mark is applied to both the film and the data carrier. As shown, the cassette 33 of exposed film is inserted through an aperture 3, and the order wallet is which the cassette has been received in inserted through an aperture 4. The wallets pass on to an endless conveyor belt 29 which has cross bars 29a for holding the wallets against movement relative to the belt. The cassette is broken open by a chisel 31 and the take-up spool engaged and lifted out by a retaining means 5. This carries it round 180 degrees to a transfer device 7 comprising four radially extending arms. As the device 7 is rotated through successive stations the film strip is unwound, the paper leader stripped away and discarded. The film is cut and spliced to the preceding film by a splicing device 20, and reaches an identification station 23 at the same time as the corresponding order wallet. The same identification mark is stamped on both the film and the wallet, the film then being passed to the cassette 25 of a developing device while the wallets drop into a collecting box 30. The finished prints are then brought together with the film and the order wallet for return to the customer. |
