The dihydrochalcone is preferably of formula Ia, Ib or Ic wherein in formula Ia, R 1 is #-Neohesperidosyl, R 2 is CH 3 and R 3 is OH; in formula Ib, R 1 is #-Neohesperidosyl R 2 is H and R 3 is H; in formula Ic R 1 is #-glucosyl, R 2 is CH 3 and R 3 is OH and is used in amounts of 1 part by wt per 2-30 parts by wt of glucano-γ-lactone. The composition may be used in beverages and yoghurt. |
