1406724 Switchgear assembly WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 10 Dec 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 57104/73 Heading H1N In a multi-pole circuit breaker and bus-bar assembly wherein the circuit breaker has sets of terminals 17, 19 each formed by a plurality of spaced-apart flat terminal portions 69 which are moved into face-to-face contact with similar sets of terminal portions 71 of the bus-bars 53, 55, the sets of contacting terminals are clamped together by an insulated bolt 81 which passes through holes in the circuit breaker terminals and is received into open ended slots 87 in the bus conductor terminals when the two sets are brought together (the hole and slot arrangement may be reversed). The clamping force is applied by the nut 83, washers 91 and insulating end portions 93, and is simultaneously transmitted to all terminal portions on the bolt by insulating spacers 97 and 100. The insulating sleeve 95 covers the main portion of the bolt only, there being slight gaps 98 between it and the two insulating end portions 93 to allow clamping up. |
