<p>1366215 Prostaglandin derivatives UPJOHN CO 30 Oct 1972 [13 Dec 1971] 49986/72 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] Optically active compounds of the formula and racemates thereof, wherein (a) X denotes trans- -CH : CH- or -CH 2 CH 2 -, and Y and Z both denote -CH 2 CH 2 -, or (b) X denotes trans- -CH : CH-, Y denotes cis- -CH : CH- and Z denotes -CH 2 CH 2 - or cis- -CH : CH-, and wherein A denotes C 1-4 alkyl, phenyl, phenyl substituted with 1 or 2 F, Cl or C 1-4 alkyl or C 7-12 aralkyl, Q denotes and R 2 denotes H, C 1-8 alkyl or -Si-(A) 3 , are prepared by silylating corresponding compounds of the formula wherein G denotes and R 1 denotes H or C 1-8 alkyl, preferably using a silylamine (A) 3 SiN(E) 2 (where E denotes the same choice of radicals as those given for A) at temperatures below - 25‹ C., or a trisubstituted monochlorosilane at 0‹ to 25‹ C. The above silylated compounds may be oxidized, e.g. with chromium trioxide/pyridine, tert.-butyl chromate/pyridine, SO 3 /pyridine, dicyclohexylcarbodiimide/dimethyl sulphoxide or silver carbonate/ silica gel, to form compounds of the formula which are subsequently hydrolysed to give compounds of the formula</p> |
