<p>Apparatus for swaging one or more ferrules on the periphery a cylindrical member such as a tube and for testing the integrity of the grip by the ferrules on the tube following a swaging operation. The apparatus shown in the drawings includes power actuated camming means for engaging the ferrules and forcing them radially inwardly into engagement with the tube while means cooperate therewith to prevent longitudinal movement of the ferrules. Additionally, testing means are provided for testing the integrity of the swaging operation including means for applying a predetermined longitudinally directed force against an end of the tube while the ferrules are held to determine whether or not the tube will move relative to the ferrules.</p> |
