A holding mechanism for holding a ski boot via its tread or supporting surface on a ski comprising two pivotably mounted brackets which, from the point of anchoring to the ski or a release plate of a releasable ski binding, extend forwardly and rearwardly respectively in order to engage over the sole tip and heel of the ski boot, and wherein one of the brackets is equipped with a clamping mechanism.
