1504627 Dehydrogenation catalysts INST FRANCAIS DU PETROLE 6 May 1975 [7 May 1974] 18994/75 Heading B1E Catalysts are prepared by forming a homogenized paste containing an iron compound, a chromium compound and a potassium compound and a clay and/or talc, shaping, drying and calcining the paste at 850-1050‹C, the proportions used being such that the calcined catalyst contains 3-55 wt. % of a potassium aluminosilicate and/or potassium magnesium silicate formed by reaction of the potassium compound and the clay or talc and that the weight ratios of the metal oxides are: Fe 2 O 3 : K 2 O :: I to 10 : 1, CrO 3 : K 2 O : : 0.05 to 0.4 : 1 and Fe 2 O 3 : CrO 3 : : 15 to 40 : 1, more potassium compound being used than can react with the clay and/or talc. In a modification up to 50 mole % of the potassium compound is replaced by an equivalent amount of another alkali metal compound and/or an alkaline earth metal compound. |
