The motor current controller is fed with a reference signal, from a summing junction, which is formed by the difference between the output of the speed controller and the speed difference (delta n) between the motor speed (nA) and the load speed (nL). The speed difference (delta n) is modified by a weighting factor (K) to give the requisite damping. The factor may be determined by the usual system evaluation methods taking account of the various natural frequencies round the loop. As the damping achieved by the circuit is so good the control signal to the speed regulator can be the load speed (nL) instead of the motor speed (nA). |
