<p>1358722 Tetrahydronaphthyloxy aminopropanol derivatives E R SQUIBB & SONS Inc 28 Nov 1972 [1 Dec 1971] 54913/72 Addition to 1358721 Heading C2C The novel compound of Formula I namely 2,3-cis-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-5-[2-hydroxy- 3 - (tert - butylamino) - propoxyl] - 2,3 - naphthalenediol is prepared by dissolving dihydronaphthalene acetate of the formula in acetic acid and water containing from 92 to 98% acetic acid, treating the solution with a silver acetate and iodine, heating the solution to a temperature within a range from 80 to 120‹ C., subjecting the resulting mixture to basic hydrolysis to form cis-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1,-6,7-naphthalenetriol, reacting the naphthalenetriol with an alkali metal akoxide in an alcohol solvent boiling below about 100‹ C., stirring the residue in a dipolar aprotic solvent with epichlorohydrin and reacting the resulting 2,3-cis-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro - 5 - [2,3 - epoxy propoxyl] - 2,3 -naphthalenediol with tertiary-butyl amine.</p> |
