摘要 1456392 Froth flotation IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 Aug 1974 [13 Sept 1973] 43075/74 Heading B2H In a method of separating an ore from silicate mineral gangue by froth flotation, a mixture of a water-soluble polymer and a water-soluble lignosulphonate salt is used as a gangue depressant. Suitable water-soluble polymers include natural polysaccharide gums e.g. guar gum, locust bean gum and gum arabic; cellulose derivatives e.g. methyl cellulose, ethyl methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methyl hydroxypropyl cellulose, ethyl hydroxypropyl cellulose, ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose, methyl hydroxyethyl cellulose, sodiuim carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium methyl carboxymethyl cellulose and sodium carboxymethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose; starch ethers; alginate salts; polyvinyl alcohol and ethoxylated fatty alcohol derivatives. Suitable lignosulphanate salts are ammonium, sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium lignosulphanates. Examples describe the treatment of nickel sulphide, Ou/Zn sulphide and Ni/Cu sulphide ores using xanthate collectors and sodium cyanide as a depressant for the zinc sulphides.
