Device with a lock for securing in position units such as containers carried by transport vehicles or stacked on top of each other includes a base (16) which projects with a cylindrical neck (18) in opening of a flat part (22) of first unit (14) and is provided with an inner cavity (25). From the base (16) a shaft (24) projects upwards from an inner cavity (25) and can be rotated in the neck (18). The top end of the shaft (24) is fitted with a cross head (26) with at least one longitudinal flange which is so dimensioned that in one position it will pass through opening (20) in flat part (22) of the first unti (14) and is rotated in a second locking position in which the cross head (25), in at least one direction, is longer than the opening (20) in the flat part (22).
