Heated gas engine with heat being conveyed to the heater cylinder head selectively either from a heat source producing heat during operation or from a heat store. The heat storage chamber (2) or the heater cylinder head (1) are fitted with an attachment (3) which whilst forming a slot (7) fits into a recess of these parts. The slot (7) together with the walls (5, 6) of the heat storage chamber and the heater cylinder head is filled with a connecting solder the melting point of which lies above the maximum temperature arising in the slot during operation. A heater unit (8) is fitted in one of the walls limiting the slot to liquify the solder in order to separate the heat storage chamber (2) and the heater cylinder head (1).
