In order to accelerate this setting, in each case a plurality of tiles (66) are movably and elastically connected, in the arrangement in which they are to be set, to form a tile panel and this tile panel is set by means of an apparatus using vibration, working expediently from top to bottom. This apparatus comprises a mount (16) which has a vibratory motor (10) and handles (22). Either a flexible board (26), for working with the thin-bed method, or a flexurally rigid board, for working with the thick-bed method, may be fastened on said mount (16). The dimensions of the respective board are smaller than the dimensions of the tile panel to be set.
