摘要 1434312 Signalling circuit connector BUNKER RAMO CORP 5 Oct 1973 [16 Oct 1972] 46707/73 Heading H2E A connector apparatus for use, e.g. in telephone systems, comprises a fixed connector 28, Fig. 1 with an insulator base 71, including within polarized receptacle 75 terminal block 81, having projecting front engagement contacts 84, Fig. 10, each constructed to contact, by insulation penetration, a conductor inserted between its bifurcations 86, 87; means 121 for mounting cable 35 connected to a data transmission system, each conductor 122 entering receptacle 75 and connecting to a contact 84; and cable connector 27 of telephone instrument 21, Fig. 1A, having terminal block 42, polarized as receptacle 75, having sockets 46, Fig. 5, arranged in the same pattern as contacts 84, a means 61 for mounting cable 25 in a covered channel with each conductor connected by soldering to the end 54 therein of the contact 49 in each socket 46; connector 27 being mounted by having its terminal block 42 pushed into receptacle 75 so that contacts 49 and 84 engage. Cover 72 has open and closed positions with receptacle 75 exposed, so that connector 27 may be mounted, and covered respectively and integral latch 134 engaging integral lug 135, and can hold connector 27 on to base 71 and block 42 in receptacle 75. Contacts 84 are held in the sockets of blocks 81, which may be a separate member of moulded plastics, by a removable cover on its bottom and each engages a shoulder in a socket. Receptacle 75 formed by walls 76, 77, 78, 79 moulded integrally with base 71 affords stop surface 120 engaging ledge 60 to maintain wiring space between surface 50 and terminal block 81. Wall slots 101 admit cable conductors 122 clear of surface 50. Cover 72 is hinged to base 71 by a thin membrane 72 of the same material. Each female contact 49 has two C-shaped end portions 51 engaging the short and long walls of socket 46 joined by linear portions 53 parallel to the long side walls. Shoulder 48 is engaged by integral mounting tab of contact 49 against withdrawal, insertion being limited by rim 47. The connector apparatus may in addition include a multi-instrument fixed connector station 32 with a third terminal block substantially larger than blocks 81 and 42 to allow direct mounting of connector 27 on any one group of its contacts. Cover 74 preferably has transverse ribs. Each contact 84, Fig. 10, has a wedge shaped base 85 and a pair of arms 86, 87 separated at their lower end by opening 88, abutting at 89 when no conductor is inserted, one arm 91 being hooked leaving space 93 for conductor insertion. Its thickness equals that of its socket. A slotted stress bar 102 is included on base 71 for receiving cable 27. The connector is wired by mounting cable 35 on base 71 inserting conductors 122 into contacts 84, and instrument 21 is connected by plugging in connector 27 and closing cover 72.
