<p>A process for recovering plastics materials from waste waters of polymsn. plants where those materials are produced, comprises the pptn. of the polymer suspended or emulsified in the waste water, as well as other solids, the separation of the pptd. prod. from the water, followed by drying, opt. in several stages. The use of the recovered plastics in powder or granules form, opt. in admixture with the pure polymer or other polymers, for producing mouldings is also claimed. The process is specifically for the recovery of (expandable) polystyrene and its copolymers with polybutadiene and acrylonitrile.</p> |
