Phosphated metal surfaces are subjected to secondary treatment with a solution which contains at least one of the following substances: 1-phenyl-vinylphosphonic acid (1), which may be substituted in the phenyl ring, poly(1-phenyl-vinylphosphonic acid) and copolymers of 1-phenyl-vinylphosphonic acid (1) and olefinically unsaturated monomers. Said substances can also be employed in the form of their alkali metal, ammonium or amine salts. The abovementioned process can be employed to improve considerably the corrosion protection achievable by the phosphate layer. |
