PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture medium and a method for suppressing strong light impediment in which reduction in a proliferation rate of euglena culture in an outdoor culture tank is suppressed, and productivity of euglena can be improved.SOLUTION: A culture medium for suppressing strong light impediment of euglena includes a cell membrane-permeable electron mediator equipped with a biocompatible portion and an oxidation-reduction active portion, and is used for electrochemical culture of euglena. Further, in a method for suppressing strong light impediment, euglena is electrochemically cultured by the culture medium supplied to a culture apparatus equipped with electrodes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
