They may be prepared by reacting a phenol of formula with an isocyanate of formula in the presence of a catalyst; or by reacting a carbamyl chloride of formula with an alkali metal salt of a phenol of Formula B or with a phenol of Formula B and an organic or inorganic base. The compounds of the invention may be used as active ingredients in herbicidal compositions.
