1444118 Coated photographic support material EASTMAN KODAK CO 4 Dec 1973 [4 Dec 1972] 56144/73 Heading B2E [Also in Division G2] A receiver material for a photographic imagewise tanning process comprises a support bearing a layer of unhardened hydrophilic colloid (i.e. having a melting point of less than 66‹C), which material contains a cobalt (III) ion complex in an amount of at least 0.5% (as cobalt) by weight of the hydrophilic colloid e.g. gelatin. The cobalt (III) ion complex may be [Co(NH 3 ) 6 ]Cl 3 , [Co(NH 3 ) 4 (CO 3 )]NO 3 , [Co (NH 3 ) 5 (CO 3 )]NO 3 , [Co(NH 3 ) 5 H 2 O](ClO 4 ) 3 or cobalt hexammine acetate (see Ex 12). The unhardened hydrophilic layer or a layer adjacent thereto may contain a dye (see Ex. 2 and 6) or pigment (see Ex. 10) which may be carbon black (see Ex. 1, 5 and 11 to 15).
