PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an optical scanner that scans laser beams emitted from a plurality of light sources with one polygon mirror, and can reduce the size in a sub scanning direction; and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A first reflection mirror 75 inclines with a main scanning direction as the axis of rotation and inclines with a sub scanning direction as the axis of rotation to reflect respective laser beams emitted from laser diodes 611A to 614A. A second reflection mirror 76 inclines with the main scanning direction as the axis of rotation and inclines with the sub scanning direction as the axis of rotation to reflect the respective laser beams reflected on the first reflection mirror 75 toward a polygon mirror. A plurality of third reflection mirrors 71 to 74 are arranged with upper end faces 71A to 74A inclined at the same angle as an angle formed by the longitudinal direction of an opening of an aperture with respect to the optical axis direction of the laser beams as the axis of rotation, and reflect the respective laser beams emitted from the laser diodes 611A to 614A toward the first reflection mirror 76.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
