<p>A device for the detection of electrolyte level in an electric alkaline battery comprises a probe (7) made-up by two nickel wires (9, 10) placed in the electrolyte whose lower level (17) is to be detected. It also has a d.c. supply and an electronic unit. The probe (7) has a holder (8) which is part of the plug (6) covering the electrolyte filling hole of the battery (4). The two wires (9, 10) have an insulating sheath over their whole length except at their extremities (11-14). The electronic unit is connected to the probe (7) and the power supply, and can send short pulses to the probe, invert the direction of each alternate pulse, to compare the current intensity flowing in the probe (7) with a reference.</p> |
