Fire escape for tall building - has folding ladder stored in wall recess and releasable from any floor

The fire escape ladder is intended particularly for apartment blocks and is made in hinged sections of a flexible or semi-rigid material. It is normally stored at the top of the building inside a recess in the external wall, where it is held in position by a locking mechanism which can be released by a control system. When this happens, a spring system unfolds the ladder, projecting it downwards to the ground. The control system can be activated from any one floor in the building by means of a cable encased in a duct, linked directly to the locking mechanism.
