The mechanism is used for hauling in sheets for sails on a boat and it has a manually operated cranked handle. This compact mechanism deals with a number of ropes from a central operating station. This handle (5) drives a hydraulic pump (7) for actuating several hydraulic motors (2) for driving rope drums (1). The hydraulic motor and pump are connected by a hydraulic pipeline (4). The direction of rotation of rope drum hydraulic motors is adjusted by valves (3). The hydraulic motors can be built into rope drums. The manually cranked handle may be positioned for maximum safety and convenience in operation.
