The present invention relates to domain antibodies that monovalently bind CD28. Domain antibodies that are monovalent for binding of CD28 can inhibit CD28 activity. Further the scope of the present invention includes nucleic acids encoding the claimed antibodies, the use of pharmaceutical compositions for treating and/or preventing an immune disease, and also ligands having a dual binding specificity comprising the antibodies according to the invention.
