A hand trolley, of tubular construction, has a first inverted U shape frame (1), the top part forming the handles, and extremities at the bottom curved backwards (5) to carry an axle (3) between them, for the wheels (4). A second frame (2) forming a load carrying platform is also U shaped, its extremities similarly attached to pivot about the axle (3). Thus the platform can be swung downwards into a horizontal position ready for loading, or swung up into a vertical folded position, through an overcentre position. A bar (6) across the bottom of the first frame supports one end of the second frame in its lowered position. The other end (7) of the second frame has a bent over portion to rest on the ground. The first frame has an upper bar (9) across it to act as a stop for the second frame in its raised position. This bar can carry a strap (10) to hold the second frame in this position.
