1451302 Electrode connections for alkaline cells SANYO ELECTRIC CO Ltd 10 April 1975 [15 April 1974 29 Nov 1974] 14801/75 Heading H1B An alkaline cell comprises positive and negative electrodes 1, 2 separated by a separator 3, each electrode having a bare conductive portion 4 at opposite ends of the cell, and current collectors 5 provided with numerous projections which are welded to the conductive portions. The electrodes are made of a punched metal or woven wire carrier supporting sintered nickel powder impregnated with active material. Each current collector consists of an expanded metal plate, wire netting, woven wire or a punched metal plate made for example of iron. The projections on each collector enable the collectors to be spot welded at a number of points to the electrodes. |
