The armoured amphibious vehicle has lateral buoyancy boxes each of which has an outside wall which is pierced with openings used as exit doors. This exit is positioned so that the vehicle is not endangered by enemy fire, and facilitates escape from the vehicle and rescue of wounded. An empty space is arranged between the door opening (10) in the outside wall (5) and the door (9) in the vehicle hull (3). The crew leaves the vehicle by releasing the lock (23) of the inner door (9) which forms an inclined chute to the ouside door opening (10). The outside door (11) also forms a downwards sloping plate so that materials and wounded can be readily removed from within the vehicle.
