Bis-adamantyl cpds. of formula (I) are new: (where n >=2; R1-3 and R1'-3' ar H, alkyl, COOH or COOR4; R4 is alkyl or perfluoroalkyl). Cpds. (I) can be used as lubricants, binders, plasticers, hydraulic fluids, etc. Cpds. (I) have high thermal stability (e.g. up to 450 degrees C) and are lower-melting and less subject to sublimation than adamantane itself.
