1451789 Printing cellulose HOECHST AG 10 Oct 1973 [10 Oct 1972 15 Sept 1973] 47315/73 Heading D1B Cellulose-containing textile are printed on, after impregnation with a diazo coupling component and sodium nitrite, with a paste comprising an aqueous dispersion of a diazotisable base having a grain size of #0.3mm., an acidifying agent and a thickening agent. Acidifiers, dispersing agents and dyes which may be included in the dispersion are listed, and examples are given. The textile printed may be cotton or rayon. The diazo coupling component may be an aromatic amide of a # hydroxy-α, # unsaturated acid or a #-keroacid, such as an aromatic amide of an unsubstituted or substituted #-hydroxynaphthoic acid or of substituted or unsubstituted acetoacetic acid.
