A lever (1) with a handle is fixed to a second shorter lever (2) by a pin (3). A spring (7) round the pin with its ends held against the two levers limits the relative rotation. At the far end of the shorter lever there is a valve flap (19) which covers the end (20) of a pipe (21) connected to the pneumatic servosystem. A cable which operates dampers in the vehicle air conditioning system is attached to the end of the shorter lever (2) nearest the operating handle. When the first lever (1) is turned the spring (7) prevents movement of the shorter lever (2) until the end of the first lever has turned far enough to move the flap (19) from the end of the pipe (21) to release the servo-system pressure.
