An explosive shell container (1) is cylindrical and made from moulded material. It contains the necessary moulded internal packing (2) to fit the contents of the container exactly, so that there can be no movement of the contents. The lid consists of three separate parts. The first is an end cap (3) which fits onto the end of the main cylinder. Two semicylindrical collars (6) fit over the end of the lid and cylinder. These two pieces are kept in place by tape. The lugs on the cylinder permit the joining of several cylinders or may be used for a carrying strap.
