The guide plates are arranged at a short distance apart from and parallel to one another and positioned at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the housing. The plates have double cone-shaped guide holes. The thickness of the plates is approx. 8 to 12 times that of the diameter of the printing wires and their separation is some 10 to 20 times the diameter of the wires. The height of the exit cone for the printing wire is in each case greater than that of the inlet cone. The guide plates are made of plastic and are locally thicker in the regions where the double cones lie.
