<p>The riveting system is entirely hydropneumatic and consists of two cylinders joined end to end and having a common piston rod and two pistons which reciprocate inside the two cylinders. The controls enable the pistons to effect a push and pull motion on the rivet. The hydraulic system is equipped with relief valves, including a balance valve which controls the pressures to a predetermined level. The valves are spring-loaded to ensure their correct operation. When the rivet is finally in position the tail end of the rivet is fractured.</p> |
