1456368 Organotin stabilizers for resins ALBRIGHT & WILSON Ltd 29 Nov 1973 [29 Nov 1972 10 Sept 1973] 55042/72 and 42451/73 Heading C3P [Also in Division C2] Halogen-containing resins, especially plasticized or rigid PVC, are stabilized by incorporation therein of 0À01-10% by weight of at least one compound of formula where a is 0 or 1; x, x<SP>1</SP>, y and y<SP>1</SP> are each 1-6 ; R 1 , R 2 , R 6 and R 7 are C 1-12 alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl groups; R 4 and R 9 are as defined for R 1 &c. or are C 13-21 alkyl, C 2-21 alkenyl or inertly substituted aryl groups; R 3 , R 5 , R 8 and R 10 are as defined for R 4 &c. or -H or at least one of forms a cycloalkyl ring; and X is -O- or -S-, or a composition of such compound with 1-50% by weight of a monoalkyltin tri- (mercaptoglycollate) ester of a C 1-20 alkanol. The composition may also comprise an o-alkylphenol, phosphites, thiophosphites, epoxy compounds (especially butyl epoxy stearate), dibutyltin sulphide or oxide, or dibutyl or dioctyl cyclic mercapto acetates or #-mercapto propionates. Other conventional thermal stabilizers may also be included. |
