Each small table has a circular top (2) with inlaid patterns (8a) and (8b) mounted a single central leg supported on a cruciform base. The base forms four feet with a castor under each foot. The table top (2) is provided with four hinged flaps (4) which can be swung downwards through 180 deg. and fixed underneath the main surface so that a smaller square table is formed. These square tables can then be placed against one another to form one large table. Dowels fitting in holes in adjoining edges hold the tables together. The flaps of the outer tables may be left in the horizontal position to provide a decorative shape to the combined table.
