The temp. regulator for environmental control systems consists of a temp. sensing element connected between bypass arms of flow and return pipes (12)(13). The element comprises a narrow tube containing a resistance wire (15)(40). The thermometer circuit (45) produces an output proportional to the mean temp. in the tube. This signal is fed to one input of a control unit (34). The second input for the controller is provided by an averaging circuit (33) connected to thermometers in the flow and return pipes (31)(32). The control device (34) is connected to bypass valves (21)(22) in the flow and return (23)(24) branches so that by opening and closing the valves according to the temp. dependent signals at its input, it maintains the desired rate of heat transmission in the system.
|
