The device inspects machined components and checks that they are accurately squared. A rigid bar ends in two plugs with the same axis as the bar, a larger cross-section and two accurately perpendicular surfaces. An indicator is mounted on the bar on a sliding ring. The ring conveys to the indicator measurements of deviations from parallelism or orthogonality through a reversing cam fixed to it. The cam supports the axially movable shaft of the indicator and one end of a follower, which projects beyond the ring and moves radially w.r.t. it.
