Stabilising compsn. for trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene - contg. a nitroalkane, a pyrrole cpd. and a phenol

Trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene are stabilised by adding a stabiliser mixt. contg. nitroalkane, >=1 pyrrole cpd. and >=1 phenol cpd. Previous stabilisers e.g. phenols and N-alkyl-pyrroles are not sufficiently effective and they do not present rapid decomposition when the solvents are used in degreasing metals. Present mixt. of stabilisers gives a synergistic stabilising effect so that the composition is effective even in small doses. Decompsn. of the chloro cpds. forms HCl.
