<p>The sorting machine, particularly for grading stones of different sizes, has pairs of horizontal rollers with a drive at one end so that they are rotated in opposite directions to travel upwards against stones placed between them, and the rollers mounted so that they are not parallel, with the gap between them increasing away from the drive ends. The rollers are mounted on a frame which can be adjusted to a required angle so that the rollers slope down, to cause the stones to move towards the widest part of the gap. Collectors are mounted under the rollers, spaced along the gap so as to receive different sizes of stones, and oversize stones enter a collector at the far end.</p> |
