<p>Fabrics during household washing are conditioned by (a) applying to the moist fabric held at 55 degrees C during a washing process, an effective amt. of fabric-contioning spray particles of size 5-2000 micron, esp. 10-250 micron, and (b) drying the textiles in an automatic dryer at 38-115 degrees C. Each particles consists of (i) 95-99.5 wt.% and esp. 97-98.5 wt.% of a base material with a melting/softening point >38 degrees C and consisting of a water-insol. mixt. of nonionic and a cationic fabric softener in a wt. ratio of nonionic/cationic material of 5:1-1:5, and (ii) 0.5-5 wt.%, esp. 1.5-3 wt.% of a fabric-conditioning material free from fabric softeners and solvents which would dissolve the base material. Each component of (ii) has a b.pt. >100 degrees C, esp. >200 degrees C and is chemically inert with respect to (i). This non-softening fabric conditioning material is more esp. a volatile perfume or odour-imparting substance. Provides a granular scouring material, washing additive or detergent which can deliver effective amts. of fabric conditioning materials particularly perfumed substances to the articles being washed.</p> |
