Soluble disazo dyes from (1,1)-bis amino-phenyl cyclohexane - for colouring polyamides and paper

New water-soluble disazo dyes have formula: (in which A is the gp. of a coupling component; R is H, Cl, Br, Me et, OME or OEt; X is COOH or SO3H, the molecule contg. >=2 SO3H gps.). Used for dyeing or printing of natural and synthetic polyamides, leather and paper, in yellow to blue shades. Good light and wet fastness are obtd. Pref. A is a gp. of the pyrazolone, pyridone or naphthalene series. In an example, 1,1-bis(4-amino-3-sulphophenyl)cyclohexane is tetrazotised and couplied with 7-amino-1-naphthol 3-sulphonic acid to give a bluish-red dye.
