The table's tubular legs fit into cylindrical sockets in these corner pieces. Each leg is held in place by a single screw, which passes (along the table diagonal) through the angle block that joins the frame rails, then through the corner piece and finally into the leg itself. The corner pieces (6) would ordinarily lie flush with the frame rails (1), with the table top extending over both, but other arrangements are also possible.
