A housing for kw-hr electric meter comprising: a base member and cover member removably attached thereof, said base member being configured such that it is capable of accommodating therein the different conventional components of an electric current measuring mechanism typical for a kw-hr electric meter, said base member further includes interrupted wallings disposed on its rim each having latch means provided thereof, each of said latch means is preferably a ridge disposed on the upper outer surfaces of said wallings, said cover member being a transparent hollow structure having a rim portion being configured such that it is capable of attachment with said base member in a sealed manner, characterized in that a plurality of catch means provided on said cover member each being capable of engagement with corresponding latch means provided on said base member, said catch means being configured such that it is capable of slidably fitting with said latch member to facilitate sealed engagement of said cover member with said base member, and retaining means provided in said base member and cover member being made such that they are capable of aligning with each other and retain thereof a meter sealing means to facilitate sealing of said housing. |
