A magnetic domain memory makes use of magnetic elements with moving Bloch walls, in which each element is associated with a number of conductors for driving. They run parallel to each other and they are folded back in a U-shape so that the conductors (54) surround the element in their bend. - The memory element may consist of a cylindrical tube (50) in which the Bloch wall rod is arranged (56), with at least six conducting strips (54) around the circumference of the tube. The arrangement permits removable and inexpensive media to be used whilst achieving rates of operation and capacities comparable with those of magnetic tapes.
