<p>1412795 Warp-knitted fabrics LIGHTNING FASTENERS Ltd 8 June 1973 [11 July 1972] 32351/72 Addition to 1242048 Heading E2S [Also in Division D1] During the warp-knitting of a sliding clasp fastener tape, a cord 19 is located adjacent a longitudinal edge of the tape and a knitting needle 20 passes through the tape alternately on either side of the cord each time drawing a loop of yarn from the tape through the previous loop on the needle. Cord 19 of twisted and cabled threads is fed through guide 17 'by a ratchet operated toothed wheel and adjacent yarn guides 14a, 14b are fed from independent let-offs so that they may draw off longer lengths of yarn. Needle 20 is associated with a sinker 26 and is carried on a slide 21 reciprocable in a slide 22 which is pivoted to reciprocate about a horizontal axis.</p> |
