1518085 Gaseous fuels from hydrocarbons SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 18 Aug 1975 [19 Aug 1974] 36367/74 Heading C5E In a process for the production of a gas containing hydrogen, carbon monoxide and light hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon fuel, 50-100% of the fuel is thermally cracked by contact with a stream of hot gas produced by gasification with oxygen of part of the residue from the cracking reaction together with any remaining fuel, the remaining residue being returned to the cracking zone. The residue, which is separated from the gaseous cracking reaction products by a cyclone, is introduced into the gasification zone with the aid of a stream of steam. The stream of gaseous products from the cyclone may be fractionated and part of the heavier hydrocarbon fractions obtained, and the residue, may be recirculated to the cracking zone.
|
