1497627 Hydroformylation CELANESE CORP 27 Aug 1976 [29 Aug 1975] 35743/76 Heading C2C A process for the hydroformylation of propylene with hydrogen and carbon monoxide in a reaction zone to form an aldehyde in which a catalytic complex comprising rhodium, carbon monoxide and a ligand is utilized, comprises feeding to the reaction zone a propylene stream which has been subjected to hydrogenation conditions to an extent sufficient to decrease the effect of catalyst poison contained in the propylene stream but insufficient to hydrogenate a substantial quantity of the olefin. In a particular embodiment, the propylene stream is treated with from 0À1 to 1% hydrogen by volume based on the propylene at a temperature of from 140 to 250‹ F. in the presence of a palladium hydrogenation catalyst. |
