The press for mfr. of conical refractory bricks comprises counter-moving press tools (2) between which is a press mould (3) into which the tools move. The upper tool has a conical pressuring surface (4). A charging device (5) comprises a slide (6) which moves across the press mould to introduce material (7) into the mould of which the bottom is formed by the lower tool. The charging device has a wiper device (8) with a wiper blade (9) which is mounted behind the slide. On travelling over the filled mould, the blade is dipped in the material on one side of the mould according to the conicity of the pressing surface of the upper tool.
