<p>The self loading lorry has extending struts on either side to stabilise the vehicle during load transfer. To obtain a wide reach for the struts, without affecting the strut strength, they are made in two telescopic sections. The first section slides out of the lorry superstructure in a stable setting and reaches to just over the ground. The second strut is curved outwards and slides out of the first on two slots, one straight and one curved. The two slots tilt the second strut into an outwards setting, with its far end tangential to the ground. ,ax. stability is achieved without having to increase the strength of the struts.</p> |
