Underground water proofing for old buildings - has walls, floor and ceiling clad with welded steel plate and joints vacuum tested

The water proofing is for flood-endangered underground rooms of old buildings, against external water. Walls, floor, and ceiling are cladded with steel plates which are welded together so as to be waterproof. The welding joints are tested for impermeability, by a vacuum appliance. To avoid sag, the walls are stiffened by welded-on double T-supports. The floor plates have diagonal ribs, and are connected to the original floor by pegs or tension bolts.
